...here they come!! My sister, 18 month old niece, and Grandma W are en route from Bermuda for a visit :) I'm so excited for them to meet little Rylie! My mom will also be joining us tomorrow, and I can't wait for her to see how much Rylie has changed, because she last saw Rylie when she was about 10 days old. Chris and I have been cleaning and organizing the house for the last several days (although, as soon as we clean it up it seems like it gets cluttered again!)... We have lots of ideas, but no real plans:
- shopping!
- pumpkin patch/fall festival
- zoo
- downtown Chicago
- Trick or Treating
- movies
- more shopping!
It all just kind of depends on the weather and what the babies are feeling up to doing. This visit by "Cousin Emma" will be a true test - are we ready for Rylie to be a little toddler in this house?! Yes, we have plenty of time to prepare still, but this will give us a good idea of what we need to move, where we need to put locks on cabinets, do we have enough socket covers, etc...
Preparing for her visit actually got me really kind of excited/nervous/anxious about trying for our next kid (not just yet!). For Emma's visit, we just set up one of the spare rooms with a changing table, Pack n' Play, a few toys, and video monitor... But still, it's kind of cool to think that we have 2 "kid' rooms now, and soon enough the second room will actually have proper furniture for a baby in it! It'll also be fun to see what it is like having 2 kids in the house for almost a week (even though there will also be us 2 mommies)...just hearing all the sounds, seeing Emma run around and be rambunctious, coordination of nap/bed times, etc... all of this will really put in to perspective what it will be like when we have Kid # 2 :-) Will we be ready next year? 2 years from now?! Haha, stay tuned! After this visit, we may never be having Kid # 2!!! Haha, just kidding, of course...
