Yes, this post is being written today...December 30th...and it is raining! We have only been in Illinois for 2 years now so we are no experts, but I do believe there is usually supposed to be SNOW on the ground by this time of year! This weather is making me more nervous about what is yet to come...
Well, since there is no snow yet, Rylie and I decided to try out her new toy in the house. Can't wait to take her for sled rides when it finally snows! I think she'll love getting bundled up in her new snow suit (thanks Grandma and Grandpa C!) and seeing what real Chicagoland winters are like - get used to it, Baby! hehe
We definitely needed to get out of the house today, so we met up with a friend and her daughter at Grounds for Hope Cafe. It was way more crowded than the first time I went there (today was rainy/friday/kids on break, etc). But we still had a good time! We only had to fend off a few bigger kids at various times - think: flying legos, toy thieves, kid cursing out my friend, etc. Haha!
And Rylie got her first war wound from her face meeting up close and personal with a jumbo lego piece on the floor. Thankfully it is just a little red mark:
And finally... Mouse had the right idea today:

The calm before the storm...
Well, it has stopped raining...for now... I hear many places around us have already received SNOW and that it is in our forecast for this weekend! Winter is definitely right around the corner!
It's amazing what a little working out can do for one's attitude and outlook on life. I have now gone for 3 mornings straight! Granted, it is only 3 mornings and the workouts only last about 30 minutes with baby in tow... But I do feel much better! Especially because I get up in the morning and go right after Rylie has her first bottle. If I wait until the afternoon, I'm sure to lose my motivation... I've also been watching my eating. Not so much what I am eating, which isn't usually toooooo bad, but how much of it I am eating. So things are good here :-)
And, as usual, miss Rylie has me smiling all the time! She has figured out how to stick out her tongue and blow raspberries... Quite cute on a little 5 month old...if she is still doing it at 2 years old, we will have to have a little chat, hehe. It's especially funny when she does it after taking a spoonful of cereal, covering Mommy! She also gives these huge grins all the time and seems to love it when you laugh and smile back! I swear she is talking as well... not real words, obviously...but she answers a lot when you say something to her. She has quite the voice when she wants to be heard, if I am ignoring her and doing the dishes..she is a hoot!
Oh, and before I could finish his post, it started snowing here!!!! Ridiculous!!!!!!
Here's my cute pic of the day:
